What is Psalm 119 about?
Psalm 119 is the longest chapter in the Bible, with 176 verses, and nearly every verse celebrates God's word under names like law, statutes, precepts and commandments. In Hebrew it is a carefully built acrostic: 22 sections of eight verses, one for each letter of the Hebrew alphabet, with every verse in a section starting with that letter. Printed KJV Bibles mark the sections with the letter names, such as ALEPH and BETH. Its best-known verse is 105: "Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path." The psalm is a long love letter to Scripture.
