Christmas Bible Verses

The Christmas story begins long before Bethlehem. Centuries earlier, Isaiah promised a child who would be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The Prince of Peace, and Micah named the small town where he would be born. The Gospels then pick up the thread. An angel visits Mary, Joseph is told not to fear, and a baby is laid in a manger because there was no room in the inn. Shepherds hear the angels praise God in the night, and wise men follow a star from the east to worship the young child. John steps back and explains what it all means: the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us. These Christmas Bible verses follow that story in order, from prophecy to the manger to its meaning, in the King James Version. Scroll through them during Advent, read them aloud on Christmas Eve, or choose one to share in a Christmas card.
